Around our House and Lydia's
Tiger loves to sleep - here he is sleeping on a small homemade rug in front of the fireplace.
Emily got to walk Chaquita, the Hoppman's miniature horse, when we went to their house.

Emily's Flower Arrangement
Emily has taken to arranging flowers - she read an article about it, and will be posting a "how to" on her blog later. This is her first arrangement.

Birthday Bowling and Dinner
It took a month to celebrate Daniel's birthday- he got a camera before our trip with a little store-bought cake, then he got to go up the tram with us, then he had the men of our church group talk to him at his "Bar Mitzvah" of sorts, and then this family party where he go to invite one friend and go bowling. Silas got it all at once this year, at the family party. We also got to finally give my father his b-day gift - a framed family history and crest of the Curran Clan. Happy birthday again, to all you men! (Sorry the pictures are all out of order - and some went missing too! We 'lost' the pictures of D opening his Lamplighter book and going on a 'hot and cold' excursion looking for his fish from Emily.)

Happy 18th Birthday Silas!
Today, Silas Edward was born at 9:57 am, 18 years ago! You have turned into a fine young man, Si. We are very proud of you! Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday Daniel!
Daniel turned 13 on the 9th, and because of vacation and illness, we delayed in celebrating. Last night we upheld our tradition of taking the birthday boy up to the Sandia Tram for dinner at the top of the mountain. We do this for every 13th birthday. It was perfect weather, and we had a wonderful time!

Happy Birthday America!
Today we celebrate our nation's 233rd birthday. We celebrate our freedoms and our rights as Americans. Remember and thank those who have fought for those freedoms. (Click here to view David Barton's account of when Francis Scott Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner.)
Even more importantly than celebrating our freedoms as citizens of this country, we should be celebrating our freedoms in Christ. If you have chosen to make Him your Savior, then although we are not to use our liberty in Christ as an opportunity to sin, we are free indeed. I have freely chosen to become a slave to Christ!
Praise God for our founders who decidedly birthed our nation as a nation under God and based solely on Biblical principles, and praise Him for His love, mercy and grace! I ask the Lord to have mercy on our nation now!
